The first of six CSU Park-Os in the Spring 2009 Park-O series will be at Hammond Pond. Entry is $5 for adults and $3 for kids; extra maps cost $2.

Directions: The registration and start will be at the parking lot on the SE side of Hammond Pond in Chestnut Hill. See maps below. (Driving) From Rt. 95 take Rt. 9 (Boylston St.) E to Hammond Pond Parkway, then into Hammond Pond lot just W of lower Bloomingdale's mall. (Subway) Take the green line (line D - Riverside) to Chestnut Hill. Walk 0.3 miles S [this is left, over the bridge, after you exit the station] along Hammond St. Turn right onto Boylston St. Walk 0.5 miles W along Boylston St. past the shopping malls. Find us on the N part of the parking lot just W of Bloomingdale’s mall. (Bus) Take bus 60 from Kenmore Station to Chestnut Hill. From the bus stop walk around the corner of Bloomingdale’s and find us on the N part of the parking lot.
Scale: 1:5000 Contours: 10ft
Mostly open forest with good visibility and runability. Several trails and rock features. Difficulty 4 out of 4 on the Park-O scale. This is real orienteering!
