Join us at MIT to learn about how to best use Purple Pen to set courses! This is a vital skill for anyone setting courses, and it is an easy one, but helpful to learn from the pros. We've reserved classroom 32-141, in the Stata Center. We will go over some basic best-practices of setting orienteering courses from beginner through advanced levels. We will discuss how to use the free software Purple Pen to set a better course and to yield a higher-quality map for printing. Purple Pen has many useful features that will help you set better courses. We'll finish with some q&a, and hopefully you'll leave with a better understanding of how to provide a beautiful map for orienteering courses. Optional: bring your laptop with Purple Pen already installed if you'd like to test this out on your next course setting opportunity. http://student.mit.edu/searchiap/iap-9289af8d58cec5b80158d55c8eb70140.html Tragically, we can't bring pizza into the classroom, so we'll all adjourn after the fact at a nearby pizzeria. Come on by, all are welcome!
