Pre-registration is optional, but requested (so we know how many maps to print) by Thursday, May 28, 2015 6:30 PM
Interval (runners start at 1 minute intervals)
The 2015 Boston Park Series is here! Featuring two new ISSOM maps and many updated old maps, the 2015 Park Series will culminate in the exciting Boston Sprint Camp (details coming soon). Do six of eight Park Series races to get a ranking for the final chase run-off.
Please register online, so we can know how many maps to print. Maps are digitally offset printed, and control descriptions are provided separately (true ISSOM sprint training!).
Season pass: $60 (Covers all Park Series races, plus summer and fall CSU events)
Junior season pass: $36
Most of the races are interval start, but check the website for the specific race, as sometimes there are mass starts or relays.
Starts at 6:30pm; courses close at 7:30.
E-punching will be used.
Rental punches are available (free with entry).
Splits will be available at www.attackpoint.org.
Beginner instruction is always available; groups are welcome.
Menotomy Rocks is a wooded park with some open grassy fields. There is sometimes bad poison ivy, so leg covering is recommended. Permit pending.
This event is part of the
2015 Boston Park Series
From Rt 2 in Arlington, go east on Rt 60 (Pleasant St. in Arlington) 0.4 miles. Turn left (west) on Grey St, and take the first left on Jason St. The park is 0.1 miles south on Jason St.
The closest MBTA service is the 67 bus from Alewife Station. Get off on Pleasant St in Arlington at Norfolk St (this is at the first street on the right after the bus has left route 2); walk up Norfolk St to Jason St, turn left and follow Jason St to the park entrance on the right. More frequent service is provided by the 77 bus (from Harvard T station along Mass Ave toward Arlington Heights). Get off at Jason St just after Arlington Center; walk down Jason St around 0.3 miles to the park.
(Need more exercise?)
The park is quite close to the Minuteman Trail - ride there, or run there.
Menotomy Rocks is a small forested area. The forest is open and great for orienteering. There is also an open area of park with a pond.
