Join us for the finale of the 2013 Boston Park Series! The regular-season results will be tabulated to seed your start in the finale, with the winner being the first across the finish line. This exciting race will feature a mix of open parkland and wooded terrain for a fast-paced navigational challenge.

Congrats on a very successful park orienteering season! We had 72 individual people come to at least one park-o this spring, and 33 of you came to at least two. The points work that the faster you run, relative to the top 3, the more points you get. The best six of eight races were used to calculate the overall leaders. Points

What do we do with all these numbers? Obviously, we have a chase start! This week's park-o will be a little different than normal. Your start time will be determined by your park-o points. If your points total is less than 50, you will do a mass start at 6:30pm. Everyone else, we will have assigned start times, based on your points, so that the people with the highest points start last. The first person across the line wins! I will post the exact start list next Wednesday (so please sign up before then, so I know to assign you). If you haven't done a park-o yet, please be prepared to start at 6:30, at which point we will ask you some questions and determine where we should start you.

There will be two prizes awarded this week - the first is for the chase start race, and the second prize is for the overall season winners. We'll be awarding male, female, junior (<16yo), and master (>50yo) categories. Prizes will be edible.

MOST IMPORTANTLY! This week is a potluck! So, bring a dish, and stay for a bit to socialize, get your prizes, and eat some food! We could try to organize who brings what, but it generally works out if people just bring whatever they feel like, and if we all end up eating a dinner of cookies, so be it.
