Urban adventure run!

Starts: Sunday, March 31, 2013 10:00 AM
Registration:  Pre-registration is optional, but requested (so we know how many maps to print) by Saturday, March 30, 2013 11:00 PM
Start Type: Mass start (all runners start together)
Map: Other
Organizer: Alex Jospe

***UPDATE!***
3/28/13:
Course lengths are finally official. Also, if you're wondering what sort of shoes to wear, the course will take place almost entirely on paved or hard-packed dirt trails. There is some woods navigation at one section of the full, but you have the option to remain almost entirely on trails. Mini and half courses are all urban navigation.

You will have to write the answers to the clues on the provided answer sheet, so maybe think about the most efficient way for you to carry a pencil, a clue sheet, and an answer sheet.

Weather looks warm (high 54F), but a 30% chance of showers.

There will be no refreshments along the course, though if you bring some cash, you are running through a city, so there's a good chance you could pause at a corner store for some sustenance.

Course lengths:
Mini: 6.5km straightline, 8km shortest runnable route (3h time limit)
Half: 12.6km straightline, 15km shortest runnable route (4h time limit)
Full: 22.1km straightline, 27.3km shortest runnable route (4h time limit)

Please cut the course short if it looks like you can't finish within the time limit.

10AM Sunday, March 31 2013 (Easter) - mass start!
Boston Common, Boston MA

Combine your navigation skills with your speed, and race for the pies! Top male and female finisher/team in each category wins a pie.

Mini adventure run (7.5km)
Half metric marathon (13.1km)
Full metric marathon (26.2km)

The course is a secret until 5 minutes before the start, when maps are handed out with a pre-drawn course. Competitors must navigate through the course, in order, and at each checkpoint, competitors must answer the appropriate question, given on the clue sheet, to prove they were there.
